Great Pyrenees (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Large Learn more about the Great Pyrenees.
Iris is a sweet and loving five year old female Great Pyrenees that is looking for a family and a doggy or kitty companion to help her transition to the indoor lifestyle.
She does like to jump smaller fences or even try to dig under them so plenty of interaction and stimulation is required to keep her energy level down. Also a six foot wooden fence would be best to help break her habit of climbing. Iris is not looking for a flock or herd to watch over. She is good with humans small and large, she loves kitties and playing with other dogs. Iris does like to bark at coyotes and squirrels so she should sleep inside at night if living in a neighborhood so not to bug close neighbors with her amazing bark. Iris is a typical Pyr that sheds twice a year (a LOT), she should also be maintained on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention medication, she is fixed, chipped, up to date on all vaccines and has had her nails trimmed. She will need time to acclimate to her new home and family so plenty of love, patients and understanding would be best for her during this confusing time.
