Hi I'm Banjo and I'm about 3 years old. I'm heartworm positive but I'm getting treated for it. I've had a really hard life. When they found me a few weeks ago, I was only about 40 pounds. My owner was starving me. I had no water, no food, no shelter from the hot sun of Arkansas, or the rain or ice. I was tied to a tree with these big ropes and chains. At first I tried to get away and now my teeth are sort of run down from chewing on the rope. I have no muscle in my legs because I couldn't move so I never got exercise. Some kind hearted soul saved me by calling the animal people to pick me up. I'm so happy they did that because I couldn't even move anymore when they came to get me. I was ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I had sores everywhere from my bones hitting the hard ground. I feel like I came to the Ritz Carlton here at the Sanctuary! I get fed everyday and my water gets changed too. I have a really nice warm dry home finally. I've even grown a little so I'm about 70 pounds now and feeling SO much better. I'm so grateful to be here I don't disturb anything and they say I'm really sweet and mellow. I think the people taking care of me here have a real soft spot in their heart for me. I just want to be loved and I've been giving them the 'stare' (which really gets me lots of love)...I'll fall asleep in your lap if you let me. Which is a good thing because I probably won't get very big from not being fed for so long. I'm actually starting to get white hair coming in which I'm really excited about. Pretty soon I'll be looking like the dapper Pyrenees I was meant to be! I hear I'm going to a furever home and I'm really excited!
